Welcome to David D. Grover, MS. LPC

 David currently works as a Psychotherapist and practices Psychoneuroimmunology. In addition, he teaches occasionally at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. He was introduced to Psychoneuroimmunology while doing his internship with the American Cancer Society. His approach to Psychoneuroimmunology is based on his studies of the Simonton Institute. 

David has spoken nationally on the subject of stress and its effects on the immune system. He is also the author of the book "Who is the DJ of Your Mind?"

About Our Immune System


The immune cells are the natural defense system of the body used to fight illness and disease. They maintain physiological balance by repairing damage to the body. What is amazing about the immune system is that it is able to distinguish between cells and chemicals belonging to the body and those that are foreign and cause destruction. If the immune system is constantly drained by negativity and stress, it becomes weakened and less capable of fighting illness and disease. Psychoneuroimmunology focuses on helping strengthening the immune system. By examining one's lifestyle, emotional stressors, rationale, and beliefs it is possible to consciously diminish that which might be draining your immune system. Depending on which book or researcher, it has been estimated that stress and negative thought lifestyles contribute to 80-90 percent of all illness and disease.

Healing starts in the mind when we learn to take charge of and observe our lives. At birth, we are filled with optimism, trust, resilience, and wholeness. But, as we grow and develop through our interactions with others, our minds collects an increasingly large file of memories, stored information, that stimulates the predominant activity of our mind and body. Our mind also contains the natural and frequently developed capacity for mindfulness, attention, concentration, and mutation.
